Our 16 Day Taste of East Africa visits a variety of destinations in Kenya and Tanzania. Highlights include the Mara Naboisho Private Conservancy (Masai Mara), the Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, Serengeti National Park and the spice island of Zanzibar where you will visit historical Stone Town (World Heritage Site) and tropical beaches.
In the private Mara Naboisho Conservancy you will enjoy guided day and night game drives and walking safaris accompanied by local Masai guides. The private conservancy means no other vehicles are allowed in the area offering you a private and exclusive game viewing experience away from the crowds.
From the Mara you will fly in light aircraft to the Tarangire National Park in Tanzania (via Nairobi and Kilimanjaro for customs) where you will spend 2 nights at a private en suite mobile tented camp. You will enjoy the convenience of private camp staff, chef, guide and 4x4 game viewer.
From Tarangire you will drive with your guide to the nearby Ngorongoro Crater where you will spend 2 nights at a private en suite mobile tented camp located on the Crater rim. En route to the Ngorongoro Crater you will enjoy a game drive through the Lake Manyara National Park. You will enjoy a guided game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater.
From the Ngorongoro Crater you will drive with your guide to a semi-permanent tented camp located in the Serengeti National Park where you will spend 3 nights. The camp moves a few times per year to be as close to the migrating herds as possible. January to March marks the birthing season of the migrating wildebeest and zebra herds and this promises some exciting game viewing as this also attracts the predators.
From the Serengeti you will fly in light aircraft to the island of Zanzibar where you will spend one night in the historical capital of Stone Town, a World Heritage Site, and 3 nights at the beach on the eastern side of the island. In Stone Town you will enjoy a guided tour of the city and spice plantations that will give you an insight into the spice and slave trades of the island. While staying on the eastern side of the island you will have the opportunity to explore some of Africa's best beaches, nearby village life and plenty of optional activities.
